Officer Drew Castonguay grew up in Springfield, Massachusetts and after graduating high school, he joined the United States Navy. While in the Navy, Drew served as a Master at Arms, conducting law enforcement and harbor security operations for Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. After 4 years in the Navy, he left active duty to start a career with the Portland Police Department. He now works as a Field Training Officer on the overnight shift, is a member of the Honor Guard, and is a Defensive Tactics Instructor. Drew earned his associate’s degree in criminal justice in May of 2017 from Southern Maine Community College.

Officer Zach Grass grew up locally in Windham, Maine. He graduated from Southern Maine Community College with an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. He joined the department in 2014 as an experienced correctional officer. Zach was temporarily assigned to the Old Port Summer Footbeat where he built relationships within the community, while walking the beat. He currently serves on C team, working overnights and enjoys spending his time off with his wife and son.

Officer Jeremy Turner grew up in Portland and graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in music. Prior to being hired as a police officer in 2016, Jeremy worked 3 years for the department as a 911 operator and dispatcher. He is also a member of the Honor Guard and currently works on the evening shift covering a Deering patrol beat. In his spare time Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family and singing in a jazz band.

Officer Kyle Forbes joined the Portland Police department in August of 2017. He spent most of his childhood in Saco, Maine and has been immersed in law enforcement his entire life. His father is a K-9 handler for the Maine State Police and has helped influence his interest in police work. Kyle graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts. He worked briefly for a few financial institutions before being hired as a police officer. Kyle has a twin brother who is also an officer with the Portland Police Department. He works evening shift on the east end of the city and enjoys the fast paced environment. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and stays active by engaging in various physical activities.

Officer Jake Gibbs joined the Portland Police Department and attended the 33rd Basic Law Enforcement Training Program and graduated in December of 2017. Prior to working for Portland, he worked as a summer reserve officer for the town of Wells for two summers, as well as being a UPS supervisor. Jake is currently assigned to B3, working evenings Friday-Monday. He loves to spend time with his wife and dog, Boey.
