In an effort to safeguard our children and our neighborhoods, the State of Maine maintains a registry of convicted sex offenders, living in Portland, who qualify under the "Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act of 1999."

The individuals listed on the State's registry are not wanted by the police. They have served the sentence imposed upon them by the court for their conviction although some may still be on probation. This information is provided for safety reasons only and no action should be taken regarding these individuals.

State law allows the Portland Police Department to post information about those individuals who appear on the State's web site and who live within the City of Portland.
